Description

Montréal, 9 mai 2008 – Dans le cadre du MOIS DE L’ART IMPRIMÉ,
les Ateliers Graff proposent une œuvre réalisée en duo par deux artistes de la relève Allison Moore et Arthur Desmarteaux.
Cette œuvre-enseigne sera exposée en permanence, jusqu’en septembre 2008.
Sur la façade de l’édifice du 963 Rachel est à Montréal (Métro Mont-Royal).

La thématique d’«infiltration» du MOIS DE L’ART IMPRIMÉ a ouvert toutes grandes les portes à
l’imaginaire débridé des deux artistes des Ateliers Graff. L’œuvre présentée en trois sections au
niveau du deuxième étage laisse entrevoir des collages, à caractère onirique et organique, inspirés
de l’univers de la microbiologie, des matières vivantes et de la science. Cette proposition ludique
s’infiltre dans le paysage urbain par le biais du trompe-l’œil, forme que l’artiste fondateur de
Graff, Pierre Ayot, affectionnait particulièrement.

Allison Moore is an independent artist and curator developing projects at the intersection of art and science. Her engagements include documentary filmmaking, video installation, animation, and puppet theatre.  Her works are socially and politically conscience, often including a level of absurdity, humor and surrealism.  Originally from the Pacific Coast of Canada she has produced projects in Ecuador, the Galapagos, United Kingdom, Europe and North America.  Allison is currently developing new technologies in video, animation and interactive computing as an invited artist at Studio XX and the Society of Arts and Technology in Montreal.
